Is Pocket Maths Tutor suitable for my child?
Pocket Maths Tutor is designed for GCSE students who want structured support, clear explanations, and steady progress over time. It works well for students aiming for a Grade 4, those pushing beyond a Grade 5, and higher-attaining students targeting Grades 7+.
How does GCSE Jumpstart work?
GCSE Jumpstart is a focused 6-week online programme. It includes weekly live lessons, access to the Jumpstart video lesson library until September, targeted resources, and Pocket Support between sessions. Once joined, students access everything through their Pocket Maths Tutor account.
How quickly will I see progress?
Every student is different. Many parents notice improvements in confidence and engagement first, followed by stronger exam performance over time. Pocket Maths Tutor focuses on consistent progress, not quick fixes.
What is Pocket Support?
Pocket Support allows students to ask questions between sessions and receive calm, human guidance to help them move forward confidently. It is designed to support understanding and independence, not to replace teaching or lessons.
Is there a limit to Pocket Support requests?
To encourage independence and ensure support remains effective:

How quickly will my child receive a response?
Pocket Support responses are provided during weekdays, term time only, and typically within 24 hours. Support is designed to be thoughtful and supportive rather than instant.
Which exam boards do you cover?
Lessons and resources are aligned to GCSE maths content and focus on skills and methods that apply across all major exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, and OCR.
Is this a replacement for school lessons?
Pocket Maths Tutor is primarily designed to support students alongside school, but it may also be useful for some home-educating families depending on the level of structure and support they are looking for. If you are home educating and would like to check whether PMT is the right fit, please get in touch.

How do you safeguard students?
Safeguarding is a core priority at Pocket Maths Tutor. All support is delivered professionally, with clear boundaries and procedures in place.
All tutors at Pocket Maths Tutor hold an enhanced DBS check and follow established safeguarding practices at all times.
