FAQ’s
Is Pocket Support suitable for my child?
Pocket Maths Tutor is designed for GCSE students who want structured support, clear explanations, and steady progress over time. It works well for students aiming for a Grade 4, those pushing beyond a Grade 5, and higher-attaining students targeting Grades 7+.
How does the membership work?
Pocket Maths Tutor operates on a monthly membership basis. Membership provides access to:
-
Weekly live GCSE maths sessions
-
A growing bank of recorded lessons and learning resources
-
Pocket Support between sessions
Membership is flexible and can be cancelled at any time. Full details are available in our Terms & Conditions.
How much does the membership cost?
Pocket Maths Tutor is designed to be a more affordable and flexible alternative to weekly private tuition. Membership is charged monthly, with no long-term commitment.
Full pricing is shown clearly on the membership page before you sign up.
What if my child needs more individual support?
Optional 1-to-1 sessions are available to existing members if additional personalised support is needed. This allows students to benefit from structured group learning while accessing targeted individual help when appropriate.
How much do 1-to-1 sessions cost?
Optional 1-to-1 sessions are available to members at:
-
£20 for 30 minutes
-
£40 for 60 minutes
Sessions are booked separately and are subject to availability.
How quickly will I see progress?
Every student is different. Many parents notice improvements in confidence and engagement first, followed by stronger exam performance over time. Pocket Maths Tutor focuses on consistent progress, not quick fixes.
What is Pocket Support?
Pocket Support allows students to ask questions between sessions and receive calm, human guidance to help them move forward confidently. It is designed to support understanding and independence, not to replace teaching or lessons.
How quickly will my child receive a response?
Pocket Support responses are provided during weekdays, term time only, and typically within 24 hours. Support is designed to be thoughtful and supportive rather than instant.
Is there a limit to Pocket Support requests?
To encourage independence and ensure support remains effective:
-
Students can submit up to 10 Pocket Support requests per week
-
With a maximum of 2 requests per day
-
Available term time only
Full details are outlined in our Terms & Conditions.
Which exam boards do you cover?
Lessons and resources are aligned to GCSE maths content and focus on skills and methods that apply across all major exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, and OCR.
Is this a replacement for school lessons?
No. Pocket Maths Tutor is designed to support and reinforce school learning, not replace it. It helps students consolidate understanding, build confidence, and manage the demands of GCSE maths more effectively.
