PMT Live Lessons give students regular contact with a qualified maths teacher, clear explanations and purposeful GCSE practice. Each pathway is designed around the student’s current confidence and next realistic step.
Students normally join the pathway that best matches their current need. The most suitable pathway can change as confidence and attainment develop.

Pathways are not permanent labels
A student can move pathway as their needs change. The purpose is to make each lesson useful now, not to place a fixed ceiling on what they can achieve.
A clear sequence from explanation to application
Lessons are planned to help students understand the method, practise it successfully and then apply it to GCSE-style questions.
Explain
The key idea is introduced clearly, with important vocabulary and common misconceptions addressed.
Model
Worked examples show the method step by step and make the reasoning visible.
Practise
Students try carefully selected questions and build confidence using the method themselves.
Apply
The lesson moves towards exam-style questions, problem solving and choosing the right approach.
Help your child get the most from each session
Students should join on time with a notebook, pen, calculator and any lesson resources requested in advance.
During the lesson, active participation matters. Writing methods down, attempting questions and responding to prompts is more useful than simply watching.
Afterwards, the recording and Pocket Lessons can be used to revisit a step. A focused question can be sent through Pocket Support if something remains unclear.
Missing one lesson does not mean losing the topic
Live lessons are recorded so students can catch up, pause an explanation or return to a method later in the year.

Live Lessons are not one-to-one tuition
The live pathways are group sessions. This allows PMT to provide regular qualified-teacher support at a more manageable cost than weekly individual tuition.
Students still receive a clear pathway, opportunities to participate and support between lessons. When a specific issue needs extended personal attention, a separate one-to-one session may be more appropriate.

Which pathway should my child attend?
Choose the pathway that best matches their current confidence, school performance and next realistic target. Michael can advise if you are unsure, and the pathway can change over time.
Are the lessons suitable for Foundation and Higher students?
Yes. Secure the 4 and Smash the 5 support both Foundation and Higher students. Strive for 7+ is designed for Higher-tier students.
What if my child misses a session?
The lesson recording can be used to catch up. Students can also use a related Pocket Lesson or ask a focused Pocket Support question if they need clarification.
Does my child have to speak during the lesson?
Students should participate appropriately and attempt the work, but they will not be put under unnecessary pressure. The aim is calm engagement and growing confidence.
Can a live lesson replace school teaching?
PMT is primarily designed to support students alongside school. It provides additional structure, explanation and practice rather than replacing the student’s school curriculum.
Are results guaranteed?
No. The lessons provide structured teaching and support, but progress depends on attendance, effort and practice, and no particular GCSE grade can be guaranteed.
